The L5P Duramax is a powerhouse, but like its predecessors, it is built from the factory with "torque-to-yield" head bolts. These bolts are designed to stretch once and stay that way—making them a major liability when you add a tuner, a larger turbo, or heavy towing demands.
The ARP2000 Head Stud Kit is the essential upgrade for the 2017+ L5P platform. By replacing the factory bolts with ARP2000® studs, you provide the massive clamping force required to keep the cylinder heads from "lifting" under high boost and combustion pressures.
