Each Billet Flex Plate is designed and machined in-house by Choate Engineering Performance, ensuring high quality and precision specifications from start to finish. Each plate is one-piece billet machined from quench and tempered steel with a high yield strength of 100,000 psi and includes an integrated counterweight for optimal rotational assembly balance.

 

WARNING!

Strict adherence to application specifications is necessary! The flex plates for the 6.0L Powerstroke and 6.4L Powerstroke are NOT interchangeable. While these components may physically bolt into place, their rotational balance specifications are fundamentally different due to engine design variations.

The structural differences are observable in the flex plate’s counterweight machining. The 6.4L Flex Plate features a higher number of machined “windows” compared to the 6.0L part. This distinction is necessary because the 6.4L piston assembly is heavier than that of the 6.0L, requiring a different amount of mass to be removed from the flex plate for proper engine balance.

Installing the incorrect flex plate can lead to severe engine damage due to critical imbalances in the rotating assembly. Always verify the vehicle and engine application thoroughly before proceeding with installation to ensure the correct flex plate is utilized.
